Data privacy policy

(1) The party responsible for processing the data on this website is EBC Euro-Business College GmbH, Esplanade 6, 20354 Hamburg.

(2) We will process your personal data in accordance with the provisions of German data protection law. The following rules inform you about the nature, scope and purpose of collection, processing and use of personal data. This Privacy Policy applies only to our websites.

(1) Your personal data is collected, stored, processed and used only to the extent necessary to process your queries and application and to facilitate further communication through automated procedures.

(2) You may use this website without registering. Registration is only required for certain functions (e.g., online application, catalog request, etc.). If registration is required, you will be notified. Required fields are marked accordingly in the registration form and are necessary to provide access to our services.

(3) To optimize our web experience, we use cookies – small text files that are stored on your computer and deleted when you close your browser. Other cookies remain on your computer (long-term cookies) and will recognize it on your next visit. This enables us to provide you with services on our site. You may prevent cookies from being stored by selecting “block cookies” from your browser’s preferences menu, but this may limit the range of offers we can make available to you.

(4) For technical reasons, your browser will automatically send data to our web server during data transmission (e.g., when accessing a webpage). This includes date and time of access, URL of the referring website, downloaded files, amount of data sent, browser type and version, operating system, and your IP address. This data is stored separately from other data you enter while using our website. None of the data will be associated with a specific person.

(5) Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without your express consent or a legal basis. After full implementation of the procedure referred to in section 2 (1), the processing of your personal data will be blocked for further use. After the tax and commercial law provisions governing this data expire, it will be deleted unless you have expressly consented to its continued use.

(1) This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” – text files stored on your computer that allow us to analyze the way you use this website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the site, compile reports about website activities to website operators, and provide other services associated with the use of this website and the Internet. Unless prohibited by law, Google may disclose this information to third parties where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

(2) You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, we point out that this may cause the occasional inaccessibility of some of the website’s functions.

(3) By using this website, you agree to allow Google to process data about you in the manner and for the purposes described above. You may, at any time, opt out of having your IP address collected by Google Analytics, with effect for the future. For more information, please visit: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

(4) This website uses Google Analytics with the “anonymize IP ()” extension. This renders IP addresses in shortened form, excluding personal association during further processing.

Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) provided by the social networks Facebook and Google+. These services are offered by Facebook Inc. and Google Inc. (“Providers”).

Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). For an overview of the plugins used by Facebook and their appearance, go to: developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

Google+ is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). For an overview of the plugins used by Google and their appearance, go to: developers.google.com/+/web/

To enhance protection of your privacy while visiting our website, the plugins are incorporated into the page by using a so-called “2-click solution” by Heise Online. This integration ensures that any connection with Facebook and Google servers will be delayed in the event that one of our pages containing such plugins is accessed. Your browser will not establish a direct connection to Google or Facebook servers until you activate the plugin and thus consent to the disclosure of information. The content of each plugin is then transmitted from the associated provider directly to your browser and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugin, providers receive the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website even if you don’t have a profile with the relevant provider or are not logged in. This information (including your IP address) will be transmitted from your browser directly to a server of the respective provider in the US and stored there.

If you are logged in to a social network, providers can link your visit on our website directly to your profile on Facebook or Google+. When you interact with the plugins (e.g., by using the “Like” or “+1” button), the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a provider server and stored there. The information will also be published on the social network and be visible to your contacts.

Please see the providers’ privacy policies for the purpose and scope of data collection, further processing and use of data by the providers, and your rights and settings options for protecting your privacy.

Google Privacy Policy: www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html

If you do not want Google or Facebook to link the data collected via our website directly to your profile in the respective service, you must log out from their websites before enabling the plugin.

(1) This website integrates the contents of external providers (“external providers”) for promotional purposes.

(2) All external providers use only cookies to manage your services. Your personal data will not be accessed. Unless explicitly explained below, personal data will not be processed and/or stored. As outlined under section 2

(3) above, you can disable cookies on your browser. Alternatively, you can assign an opt-out cookie to each external provider, which will prevent the external provider from storing any additional data from you.

This has the advantage that convenience or ease of use will not be impacted when using websites, enabling you to make individual decisions as to which service to allow or not to allow.

(3)  Please find listed below currently integrated external providers of this website, purpose of processing and a link to the opt-out option.

(1) Under the Federal Privacy Act, you have a right to free access to information about your stored data and the right to rectify, block or delete this data. Please direct any queries to this e-mail address: datenauskunftebc-hochschule.de.

(2) Mr. Marc Althaus has been appointed our external data protection officer. To ensure continued compliance with data protection regulations, he will conduct regular tests. He can be reached at: www.dsextern.de/kontakt.php
