BUNDLING THE POTENTIAL OF EBC HOCHSCHULE AND ISM AS OF JANUARY 2019

The EBC University will not enrol any new students from the winter semester 2019/2020 onwards. This decision is based on the strategic reorientation within the ESO Education Group. Further information can be found in the press release.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

As part of a strategic reorientation, the management of the ESO Education Group has decided to bundle the potentials and strengths of its two university brands EBC University (EBC) and International School of Management (ISM). In the future its concept of a multi-campus university will focus on the ISM brand, which will thus expand its presence in Germany. In addition to its campuses in Dortmund, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne and Stuttgart, from 1st September 2019 there will be also a campus in Berlin and possibly in Düsseldorf. With this bundling the ISM will also benefit from the potential and innovative concepts of the EBC University.

Therefore, the EBC University will no longer register new students. For the students of the EBC University nothing will change. They will of course be able to complete their studies according to the curriculum accredited for the EBC University. Alternatively, students of some degree programmes and semesters of the EBC University have the option to choose ISM's study programmes with attractive conditions from the summer semester 2019 onwards. In any case, an excellent education according to the high quality standards of the ESO Education Group will be guaranteed.

The ISM offers a wide range of practice-oriented Bachelor's and Master's programmes in economics and business administration. Already in 2016 the ISM successfully took over the campus of the EBC University in Stuttgart in southwest Germany and thus expanded its market presence. At its locations in Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart and Dortmund and in future also in Berlin and Düsseldorf, ISM qualifies students in full-time, part-time and dual programmes to be managers and is therefore the ideal training partner for companies operating nationwide. In 2017, ISM was listed as the best private university in the CHE ranking.

Prof. Dr. Ingo Böckenholt, President of ISM: "The concentration of its multi-campus universities under one umbrella brand within the ESO Education Group is an opportunity, an incentive as well as a challenge for us to further expand our position as a leading private university with over 4,000 students. The expansion is particularly important with regard to the part-time programmes, because those who study part-time want to do so within a radius of 50 kilometres of their place of residence or work. We are looking forward to working with EBC."

Also regarding EBC’s high quality in teaching and student support no disadvantages are to be expected. "We will fulfil the obligations of the EBC University with the usual high quality standard”, announces Silvia Semidei, managing director of the EBC University. “Thereby all EBC students will be allowed to successfully complete their studies. Additionally, they will be offered attractive Master’s programmes and events at all campuses of the ISM. In the future, EBC and ISM students will also be able to benefit from the networks and activities of both universities."
